Never, Never Give Up!


Never, Never Give UP!

Our world are full of educated, genuises, talented individuals but why there are some of them was not able to reach the heights of their success? And what are the reasons, why some of them were not successfully conquer the impossible? This are the questions that I would like to seek and find for an answers.

I'll still remember the great man named Dr. Napoleon Hill, a man which I greatly admired most. During the 1930's, he started conducted a study on the lives of certain successful great men of America. He investigated why this group of individuals were so successful in their life struggles and reach the top of the ladders. Through personal interviewed with them, he found out that their main secrets why they gradually win to beat the odds and got the crown of life are because of their being positive thinkers, positive attitudes, self-determination to win and the philosophy NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP!

According to Martin Tupper when you experience a great trials and challenges in life, you should encourage yourself to "Never give up or the burden may sink you; Providence kindly has mingled the cup and in all trials and troubles, that challenges you. The watchword of life must be, NEVER GIVE UP."

Billi Lim a dare to fail man adds, "Do not measure a person by how many times he falls, measure him by how many times he climbs up again. A person who can climb up again after he falls will never be drawned." He added and commented, "But it is sad to note that many people are just like those who, after a temporary defeat, prefer to stay there and finally die a real failure, fallen and never to rise again."

What is really the quality to an individual that will help him to rise once again after he fall? A great president of America, President Calvin Coolidge gave a very enthusiastic and very inspiring answer in this query. President Coolidge answered, "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence, Talent will not; nothing is more common than successful men with talent. Genuises will not; Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts, persistence and determination alone are omnipotent."

I am certainly agreed with that great maxims of Calvin Coolidge. I'll proved it already to myself. I’ll still remember when I was a young boy. I have a lot of great dreams for my future. But how could it be? It’s the same questioned that always lingering in my mind. I’m the product of a broken home family, grew up in the street, and stayed with different and even with the cruel person in this world! It’s good that was over! The bitter memory of my childhood!

I have learned through my experiences and studies from the profiles and writings of the great wise men that the only way to beat the odds in life is to face and to take the challenge and continue remaking ourselves into a better person! And also by making God as a partner in every aspiring in life because in Him nothing is impossible!

Because of the positive attitude that I had and by encouraging myself to believe in the beauty of my dreams, I gradually finished my Bachelor’s degree in History and Minor in Political Science with my own self-determination and now I am working as College Guidance Counselor, College Instructor, and Working Student Supervisor.

To you my dear readers, I would like you think and ponder this:

If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, YOu don't. If you've like to win but you think you can't, it's certainly you won't.

Life battles are not always go to stronger or the faster man But sooner or later, the man who wins is the man who thinks he can!

Here is the last and the best final keys to make yourself become a winner and succeed in every struggle in life, is to make God be as your partner and everything will come together (Romans 8:28).

People, if your feeling defeated and hopeless think of this: If you have tried and met with failure; if you have planned and watched your plans as they were crushed before your eyes; just remember that greatest men in all history were the products of courage, and courage, you know, is born in the cradle of adversity.

My dear, beloved readers remember this, when you are at your weakest, God is in His greatest! What you shall going to do is to call Him and God promised, "Call me and I will answer you, and show you the great and mighty things which you do not know" (Jeremiah 33:3).
Before I will conclude my article, I would like to encourage you, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP! DARE MIGHTY THINGS! HOLD ON TO YOUR DREAMS!
Just always remember THAT THE FUTURE BELONGS TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE BEAUTY OF THEIR DREAMS!

Dare Mighty Things


Life is good. But it depends upon on the individual on how to use and make his life meaningful and productive. The Word of God clearly emphasize this in the book of Jeremiah 29 11-12 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you” (NIV).

Did you use your life that our loving and merciful God gave to you for a productive and a meaningful living? Do you exert all your effort and strength to attain your desire goal? Or do you sometimes discourage because of the criticism you heard from the evilspeaking tongues of your friends, relatives, and neighbors? Or sometimes you doubt about your ability and capacity to succeed in your adhering in life?

If your answer is yes to all the questions above, I encouraged you my dear beloved readers to read the following story of the certain great people on how they used their lives to work and strive hard for excellence despite of the criticisms and insults they received from the negative and toxic people.

Napoleon Hill, a poor boy and a deficient in education had the ambition to be a writer but his good friends assured him his ambition was impossible but because he believes in the beauty of his dreams finally he became a great writer and the author of the very famous inspirational classical book “Think and Grow Rich” that until now, it is one of the best seller in the Philippines.

Chester Carlson in the 1940’s his idea was turned down by 20 companies including some of the biggest in the country. After 7 long years, in 1947, his idea was accepted. The idea was the XEROX MACHINE.

Marilyn Monroe in 1944 was criticized by Emmeline Snively, the director of the Blue Book Modeling, telling her “You’d better learn secretarial work or else get married” but later on she became one of the famous international celebrity artist.

The Beatles in 1962, criticized by the Decca Recording Company, Telling them “We don’t like their sound, and guitar music is on the way out” but gradually because of their persistence and determination to achieve their dreams, they become a great international band. And now they are known in their song “Yesterday” “Michelle” “Mr. Postman” etc.

Me also during my student life, I experienced too a lot of criticism. But as a young man and historian, who are always thirsty, hunger for knowledge and wisdom, through reading the profiles of the great people of the world, I discovered, come up, and finally concluded that a statue has never been erected in honor for a critic!

Dear readers if you have similar experienced like me and others, please do not take heed to that group of toxic, negative people but focus on your main goal to win!

Tedy Rosevelt, an American great president once says, “In the battle of life, it is not the critic who counts; nor the one who points out how the strong person stumbled, or where the doer of a deed could have done better.

The credit belongs to the person who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; who does actually strive to do deeds; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotion, spends oneself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement; and who at worst, if he or she fails, at least fails while daring greatly.

Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those timid spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.”

Anthony Robbins adds, “There are no real successes without rejection. The more rejection you get, the better you are, the more you’ve learned, the closer you are to your outcome.”

People, If you have tried and met with failure; if you have planned and watched your plans as they were crushed before your eyes; just remember that greatest men in all history were the products of courage, and courage, you know, is born in the cradle of adversity.

George Bernard Shaw further added, “When I was a young man, I observed that nine out of ten things I did were failures. I didn’t want to be a failure so I did ten times more work.”

My dear beloved readers, here is a secret formula on how to beat your odds in life. Read and think of this carefully:

“Know what you are going to do and then do it and don’t backslide. If you make a mistake, make a glorious one. It’s like the man who comes to the tree at the fork in the road and says, ‘which way shall I go, this way or that?’ Go! Take one way and go. There is always the element of timing. Everything has a time and place” (Gurn Rutt).

My dear beloved readers, I remind you that…

If you have a dreams

Hold on to your dreams

If your dreams die

You’re like a wounded bird without a wing!

Once again, I strongly encourage you, focus in your goals to win and read and think of this carefully once again:

If you think you are beaten, you are.

If you think you dare not, you don’t.

If you’d like to win but think you can’t, it’s almost certain you won’t.

Life’s battles don’t always to the stronger or faster man,

But sooner or later, the man who wins is the man who thinks he can.

Calvin Coolidge argued, “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talents will not, nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not, unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Educations will not, the world is full of education derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”

I’ve found out that before any great accomplishment is achieved in reality, it’s believed in heart. If you need to hear the applause of the crowd, you have to begin your attack in the face of criticism, believing that the applause will come later.

To you my dear readers, I encouraged you…do your best and God will do the rest!

Remember the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams! So hold on…hold on…hold on to your dreams!

Improve Yourself


Improve Yourself!

I’m still remembered the sayings of my great fellow ezinearticle.com expert writer Mr. Mark Webb point out that “The greatest gift you can give to somebody is your own personal development. Stop waiting for the “some day” that never seems to come. Stop waiting for people and circumstances to change. Instead change what you can, yourself. Don’t settle for less than you can be. Strive to be your best self. When you take better care of yourself, everybody wins. You will be a better partner and for that matter, a better parent, a better friend, and a better citizen. Everybody benefits from your personal development.”


It’s a good sound personal advised! Especially we are now in the globalization age. As I have observed and learned through my personal readings from the news paper and classified ads, that this is the only key that an individual can be able to compete in the job market. I encourage you to improve every talents and skills that you have because that’s the only gift and asset you can give to yourself and to your fellowmen. Secondly, it is the best and only ingredients or strategy that you can successfully persuade and attract an employer.

As a guidance counselor, college instructor, and working student supervisor, I’ll always reminded and encouraged my students to improve their skills and to try everyday to learn a new skill if they’re really wants to succeed and not to disqualify in any games of life!

Below are the basic and simple tips that will guide you on how to improve yourself.

1. Evaluate yourself. Examine what are the necessary things that you should need to improve. Every human being has their own weaknesses. So try to discover your own weaknesses and encourage yourself to improve it.

2. Feed your mind with knowledge and wisdom. Read everyday at least two to three chapters of inspirational books like the Bible, the writings of John Maxwell, Og Mandino, Brian Tracy and others. That’s the best key to motivate you and become a productive individual.

3. Avoid Toxic, negative people. I encouraged you do not socialize with this kind of people who has no ambition in life. The Word of God clearly remind about this: “Do not be misled: Bad company corrupt your good character.”

4. Take risks. Try doing things that you've never tried before. It's always a little bit of a challenge in doing new things and just the act of accepting these challenges, some little and some big, whether we are successful or not, frequently improves our self-confidence.

5. Dream. By dreaming and having ambition in life you can be able to conquer and overcome every obstacles and hindrances that always lingering in your life! Napoleon Hill reminds you that “Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.”

6. Pray. Make a prayer as a part of your daily routine. As what I have learned in my life…it is one of the secret and best things and asset to make God as partner in every dreams and struggle in life because with “God all things are possible!” God has a special promise to those who are faithfully following His words, God said, “Call Me and I will answer you and show you the great and mighty things which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33: 3).

Remember: To improve you’re aimed, improve yourself!

How to Gather Honey Instead of Bee Stings

Few people realize the importance of the words they speak. There is almost no way to overemphasize the importance of what we say. Yet most people give it almost no thought, usually speaking without thinking.

The Inspirational Classical author, Og Mandino once asked to himself “Why is it, then that so many of us go out of our own way to offend others with criticism and offensive judgments that so often come back to haunt us? Why do we allow our big mouths to dig ruts in our path so deep that our forward progress is finally nil? Is this more of that “will to fail” that has already been covered?”

He continued and commented “If your tongue has been busy accumulating enemies for you, enemies you do not need who can harm you, now is as good time as many to cease and desists. How said it would be for such a petty habit to destroy your great potential.”

Another very well-known inspirational and classical author described the worst effects of criticism to the receivers. Dale Carnegie, in his book entitled “How to win friends and influence people” articulates that “Criticism is futile because it puts a man on the defensive, and usually makes him strive to justify himself. Criticism is dangerous, because it wounds a man’s precious pride, hurts his sense of importance, and arouses his resentment.”


My dear readers, Dale Carnegie remind “When dealing with people, let us remember we are not dealing with creatures of logic. We are dealing with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudices and motivated by pride and vanity.” He warns that doing “criticism is a dangerous spark – a spark that is liable to cause an explosion in the powder magazine of pride – an explosion that sometimes hastens death.”


Carnegie continued and gave a very good examples in his above statements, “General Leonard Wood was criticized and not allowed to go with the army to France. That blow to his pride probably shortened his life. Bitter criticism drove Thomas Chatterton, the English poet, to suicide.”


I remember the Greek Philosopher, Phytagoras once says “A wound from a tongue is worse than a wound from a sword for that latter affects only the body, the former affects the spirit.”

In the Bible, James the disciple of Jesus Christ gave a warning of the evil poison of the tongue. He described some who try to use their tongue as praise and blessing to God, then turn around to use their tongue to speak evil of one another. “With it we bless our God and Father, and with it rue curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so” (James 3:9-10). We cannot use our tongue to curse and bad-mouth our brethren, then continue “business as usual” with our relationship with God. The Bible clearly says that such tongue behavior is characteristic of hypocrites. “The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor... “(Prov. 11:9).

The great teacher of all times, The Lord Jesus Christ revealed to us that our words are important. In the book of Matthew 12:36-37, Jesus exclaimed “But I tell you that men will have to give account on the Day of Judgment for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned” (NIV).

Certainly, my dear readers this is not a negative message. When we understand the importance and power of our words, we can use them for good. The Word of God clearly says “death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21 NIV). James the disciple of Jesus Christ adds, “The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a word of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and itself set on fire by hell” (NIV).

The above texts mean that life is controlled by words. I repeat, life is controlled by words. Words release authority. Words determine the course of events. Words matter. What should you do about this?

Ellen G. White one of the great founder of Seventh-day Adventist, gave a very good and inspiring answers in above query. In her book entitled “Ministry of Healing” she encouraged us that we should “Cultivate the habit of speaking well of others. Dwell upon the good qualities of those with whom you associate, and see as little as possible of their errors and failings.”

She further encouraged us “When tempted to complain of what someone has said or done, praise something in that person’s life or character. Cultivate thankfulness. Praise God for His wonderful love in giving Christ to die for us.”

And for those who are enjoying and making fun of criticism, she warned, “Evilspeaking is a twofold curse, falling more heavily upon the speaker than upon the hearer. He who scatters the seeds of dissension and strife reaps in his own soul the deadly fruits. The very act of looking for evil in others develops evil in those who look. By dwelling upon the faults of others, we are changed into the same image.”

She encouraged “Instead of criticizing and condemning others, say, “I must work out my own salvation. If I co-operate with Him who desires to save my soul, I must watch myself diligently. I must become a new creature in Christ. Then, instead of weakening those who are striving against evil, I can strengthen by encouraging words.” She added, “We are too indifferent in regard to one another. Too often we forget that our fellow laborers are in need of strength and sympathy. Help them by your prayers, and let them know that you do it.”

James asserted that “If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless” (James 1:26 NIV).

People remember no one knows when life is over. Our life is like a vapor that appears for a moment and then disappears! So I encouraged you, don’t let your life die like an insects without doing something good to yourself and to your fellowmen.

Rebecca Barlow Jordan reminds “It’s not how much you accomplish in life that really counts but how much you give to other. It’s not how many goals you reach, but how many lives you touch. Believe in the impossible, hold tight to the incredible, and live each day to its fullest potential. You can make a difference in your world.”

Before I conclude my article, I would like to share with you a short story of the Song of the Bird. My prayer and my aim to God may this article that I have written here will helps and assist you on how to improve your life in becoming a productive individual and a source of encouragement and a source of inspiration to other people!

Now, prepare yourself and ready your mind to read and to think of this carefully:

Sufi Bayazi says this about himself: “I was a revolutionary when I was young, and all my prayer to God was … “Lord, give me the energy to change the world.”

As I approached middle age and realized that half my life was gone without changing a single soul, I changed my prayer to… “Lord, give me the grace to change all those who came contact with me. Just my family and friends, I shall be content.”

Now that I am an old man and my days are remembered, my one prayer is “Lord, give me the grace to change MYSELF.”

Had I prayed for this right from the start, I should not have wasted my life.

Once again, I encouraged you do not let your life die like an insects without doing something good to yourself and to your fellowmen. Use your life as source of encouragement and a source of inspiration to other people!

Remember life is so short! So use it for a productive, for a meaningful, and for a peaceful living with yourself and with your fellowmen.

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable...if anything is excellent or praiseworthy...think about such things" (Philippians 4:8 NIV).

Get Rid of Impossible

“If you have faith as mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20 NKJV).
As the concept, impossible, I remember the late great Dr. Norma Vincent Peale’s book “You Can If You Think You Can”. Dr. Peale described the curious procedure of a well-known inspirational great writer named Napoleon Hill, whom I greatly admired.

“As a young man he had the ambition to be a writer. To accomplish this object he knew he would need to become expert in the proper use of words. Words would be his stock-in-trade, but since he was a poor boy and a deficient in education, good friends assured him his ambition was impossible.”

Dr. Peale added, “Young Napoleon saved his money and bought the finest, most complete and beautiful dictionary, and he meant to master them. But then he did a strange thing. He turned to the impossible and with fine scissor clipped it out of the dictionary and threw it away. Then he had a book of words devoid of that negative concept, impossible. Thereafter he built his whole career on the premise that nothing is impossible to the person who wants to grow and outgrow.”

I remember the saying of the great Goethe “Whatever you can do or dream you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."
The sayings above of the great philosopher is really true, I proved it in myself!

One hundred percent, I certainly agree in the sayings of the late great president of America, President Calvin Coolidge that “Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education alone will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”

Solving Problems Effectively

How to solve problems and make decisions more effectively in discussions with other people. Your ability to communicate is the most important skill you can develop to get on to the fast track in your career. Perhaps the most important thing you do in business is to solve problems and make decisions, both by yourself and with other people.

Use a Systematic Process A major type of communication in the business organization is meetings for problem solving and decision making. The key to effective problem solving and decision making discussions, is for you to all go through the process systematically.

Define the Problem Clearly Right at the beginning, you ask the question, "What exactly is the problem?" Clarity of definition will resolve 50% of the issues before they go any further.


Focus on the Future When discussing a problem, be sure to focus on the future over the past. Ask the question, "Where do we go from here?” “What do we do from here?” “What are our options for the future?" Too many problem-solving discussions end up focusing all of the attention of all the people present on what happened in the past and who is to blame. The effective executive uses this type of communication to focus on where the company and the individuals are going, and what can happen in the future - the only part of the situation over which anyone has any control.

Talk About the Solutions A second element in effective problem solving communications is for you to talk about the solutions instead of talking about the problems. It is for you to keep the attention of the individuals in the meeting focused on the possible solutions and what can be done rather than what has already happened. Release Creativity The discussion of solutions is inherently positive, uplifting and has a tendency to release creativity amongst the group. A discussion of problems is inherently negative, de-motivating and tends to inhibit creativity. The

Key to Positive Thinking You can become a positive thinker simply by becoming a solution-oriented person rather than a problem-oriented person. If you get everyone in your organization thinking and talking in terms of solutions, you will be astonished at the quality and quantity of ideas that will emerge.

Action ExercisesHere are two things you can immediately to become a better problem solver and decision maker. First, take some time to be absolutely clear about the problem that is under discussion. Give some thought to what an ideal decision or solution would accomplish. Instead of focusing on the situation as it is, talk about the situation, as you would like it to be. Second, keep the conversation focused on solutions, on what can be done in the future. The more you think and talk about solutions, the more positive and creative everyone will be and the better ideas you will come up with.

Tips to Increase Your Self-Esteem and Confidence


Whenever one is beset by a situation that he or she is unsure of – facing someone admired, having to perform in front of an audience, or simply talking to others – he or she is facing a goodly amount of stress. Confident people are usually able to face these situations without blinking; but the rest of us will probably melt away and try to run away from the situation.

For most people facing this kind of low self-esteem, these situations present an opportunity for them to make fools out of themselves. This is a very embarrassing prospect.

If you are one of the millions of people that would like to stop fidgeting in front of others, trying to squirrel out of such situations, and being so unsure of yourself when facing presentations, here are a few tips to set you on your way.

1. Competence is Confidence - Some organizations, like the Toastmasters, help those afraid to speak in public toughen up by stressing this credo – and it really works. One secret to confidence and self-esteem is to be able to trust what you are able to do. This comes with a lot of practice and study. Whenever you practice a given skill, you increase your own confidence in your capability to perform even in front of other people.

Before a big presentation, study up. Try to know everything about the topic before you step in front of the audience. If you have practiced way before the presentation, you will be in a better position to knock their socks off.

Practicing in front of supportive people you trust will help you get feedback on how to improve your performance.

2. Believe in Yourself - One of the reasons people are not confident in themselves is the fact that they are already convinced that they will fail even before anything happens. Never underestimate the power of the mind. If you believe you will fail, you indeed will! A better exercise would to be to believe that you can succeed. Set your mind towards succeeding and you probably will!

3. Take Criticisms, whether Good or Bad - Most people are bad at taking criticisms. Instead of taking the criticisms personally, use every comment and suggestion to make yourself better. However, you will also have to look out for some criticisms that were never meant to benefit you. Ignore them and move on.

4. Remain Calm at All Costs - Panicking never benefited anybody. If you are suddenly in a situation where you are unsure of what to do or what will happen, keep your composure. If you don't know the answer, say so calmly. If you do not know what to do, it would not be bad to admit it. However, beneath your cool façade, always try to keep a deliberate, quick thinking, demeanor. This itself could take a lot of practice, but it is well worth it.

5. Don't be Afraid to Fail - Many people are afraid to fail; they quit trying because they are not confident in their skills. If you are afraid to try, you will get stuck where you are. Failure can only make you better. Remember that every great man took risks and failed a lot before arriving at greatness.

6. Don't Base Your Confidence on What People Think Of You - While other’s opinion of you can be important, it should not sway you from thinking that you are important. They do not know you better than you do. If you free yourself from the shackles of peer opinion, you will be free to try new things and learn new skills. It does not matter if they think you cannot accomplish anything – take whatever good that can be gleaned from their advice and move on.

Knowledege VS. Knowing


More and more I am reminded that there is a big difference between "knowledge" and "knowing." There is a major difference between reading a book and "living" the book.

Another common misnomer is that "knowledge is power."
Once again, untrue. Knowledge is nothing more than organized information—organized information will do nothing for you in and of itself. How many know what to do and yet…they don’t do anything with what they know?

Knowledge is an intellectual process—Knowing is a spiritual/emotional process. Knowledge comes from acquiring information—Knowing comes from ownership.
How can you and I continually move from knowledge to knowing—from education to ownership?…Ownership comes from 3 keys:

1. Spend time with your friends and loved ones.
Although this is obvious, we need to intentionally set aside time in our schedules for them no matter how busy we think we are. Put appointments with friends and family into your day timer or palm pilot. If you don't do this, you may forget and months and even years can go by without seeing these special people. The sad fact is that those relationships can dry up and wither away from neglect. Many marriages fail for just this reason. People are often too busy to spend enough time with each other and one or both of the partners can't take the neglect. If you want your relationships to bloom, you have to water them with quality time. How long would a rose garden be lush and beautiful if no one watered it for days without end?

2. Genuinely appreciate the special people in your life.
Tell them how much they mean to you. Mention their good qualities and how special they are. For example, if you need to correct your children's behavior, be sure to spend twice as much time appreciating their positive qualities than reprimanding their negative ones.

3. Learn to say, "I was wrong. Please forgive me."
This will do wonders for your relationships. Humility is a beautiful quality in any person. Someone who thinks he or she is always right can be impossible to live with. If your habitual attitude is "I'm ALWAYS right," that's a poisonous plant that will spread and ruin your entire garden. Apologizing and asking for forgiveness when we've done something wrong does not degrade us. Instead it shows that we are growing up.

4. Be quick to forgive and don't hold grudges.
Bury the past. Bitterness never helped anyone. It only hurts the bitter person. Don't let the aggressive weeds of unforgiveness spoil your garden. Try not to crush tender relationship plants by being harsh and unforgiving.

5. Learn to say "thank you" a lot.
Everyone loves to be appreciated for what he or she has done instead of being taken for granted. You may be thrilled by the vibrant blossoms of encouragement that will result from taking time to say "thank you."

6. Listen more than you talk.
In a game of tennis it would be very strange for one of the players to bounce the ball up and down on his or her side instead of hitting the ball back to the other player. The same could be said for the game of ping pong. These games teach a powerful lesson. If you are always talking and other people don't have a chance to get a word in edgewise, you won't be very popular for long.

7. Go out of your way to help others in practical ways.
If a friend is in the hospital, go visit him. If a neighbor is going through a difficult financial time, bring groceries over to help tide him or her through the crisis.

Three Little Words


Three little words can make a difference in one's life. There are many things that we can do to perk up and strengthen our interpersonal relationships. Yet the most effective involves the saying of just three words.

When spoken or conveyed, these statements have the power to forge new friendships, deepen old ones and restore relationships that have cooled. Thefollowing three-word phrases can enrich every relationship.

I'll Be There: If you have ever had to call a friend in the middle of the night, to take a sick child to hospital, or when your car has broken down some miles from home, you will know how good it feels to hear the phrase "I'll be there." Being there for another person is the greatest gift we can give. When we are truly present for other people, important things happen to them and us. We are renewed in love and friendship. We are restored emotionally and spiritually. Being there is at the very core of civility.

I Miss You:Perhaps more marriages could be saved and strengthened if couples simply and sincerely said to each other "I miss you." This powerful affirmation tells partners they are wanted, needed, desired and loved. Consider how ecstatic you would feel, if you received an unexpected phone call from your spouse in the middle of your workday, just to say "I miss you."

I Respect You: Respect is another way of showing love. Respect conveys the feeling that another person is a true equal. If you talk to your children as if they were adults you will strengthen the bonds and become close friends. This applies to all inter-personal relationships.

Maybe You're Right: This phrase is highly effective in diffusion an argument and restoring frayed emotions. The flip side to "maybe your right" is the humility of admitting, "Maybe I'm wrong". Let's face it. When you have a heated argument with someone, all you do is cement the other person's point of view. They, or you, will not change their stance and you run the risk of seriously damaging the relationship between you. Please Forgive Me: Many broken relationships could be restored and healed if people would admit their mistakes and ask for forgiveness. All of us are vulnerable to faults, follies and failures. A man should never be ashamed to own up that he has been in the wrong, which is saying, in other words, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.

I Thank You: Gratitude is an exquisite form of courtesy. People who enjoy the companionship of good, close friends are those who don't take daily courtesies for granted. They are quick to thank their friends for their many expressions of kindness. On the other hand, people whose circle of friends is severely constricted often do not have the attitude of gratitude.

Count On Me: A friend is one who walks in when others walk out. Loyalty is an essential ingredient for true friendship; it is the emotional glue that bonds people. Those that are rich in their relationships tend to be steady and true friends. When troubles come, a good friend is there indicating you can "count on me."

Let Me Help: The best of friends see a need and try to fill it. When they spot a hurt they do what they can to heal it. Without being asked, they pitch in and help.

I Understand You: People become closer and enjoy each other more if they feel the other person accepts and understands them. Letting your spouse know in so many little ways that you understand them, is one of the most powerful tools for healing your relationship. This applies to any relationship.

I Love You: Perhaps the most important three words that you can say. Telling someone that you truly love them satisfies a person's deepest emotional needs; the need to belong, to feel appreciated and to be wanted. Your family, your friends and you, all need to hear those three little words. "I love you."

Remove Limiting Beliefs


Our beliefs are never neutral. Thy either hold us back or move us forward, but what many of us forget, is that we choose what we believe.
Your attitudes and beliefs determine your thoughts and feelings and logically from that, you make choices and decisions. For example, if your dream is to grow your business and you don't believe it's possible, you may have thoughts such as, "it's going to be too difficult," or you may feel overwhelmed by the idea. If you follow that thinking, chances are high that you will give up before you fully explore the possibilities around this dream.


On the other hand, if you believe in yourself and therefore believe in your dreams, you are more likely to realize how much you want this dream and will be more likely to act on it. A positive belief will support you while a negative belief may destroy you; or at least your dream.
The most detrimental beliefs are what I call the "The Three Human Being Biggies." The first one is scarcity and translates to thoughts or comments such as, "I don't have enough time, money or energy." The second has to do with inadequacy and sounds like, "I'm not (blank) enough." The most common fill-ins include: "I'm not: old enough, young enough, rich enough, or smart enough." Finally, the belief that can be most destructive to your dreams is not trusting. If you don't trust yourself, life or the "grand plan", it can be challenging to even have dreams, much less pursue them.


How do you change from a limiting belief (that holds you back) to an empowering belief (that can catapult you forward or set you free)? I can answer that in one word. Choice. I will repeat; we choose what we believe and if we don't manage our mind and pay attention to what we are thinking, what we often get by default, are old limiting beliefs.
Choosing an empowering belief that will support you over a limiting belief that may sabotage you makes sense, but it can feel like a leap of faith that's just too big to take. If that's the case try this approach. The way to shift is through willingness, courage and practice. Be willing to choose a new positive belief. Demonstrate your courage by acting on that new belief and then practice doing it over and over again until it changes from a negative belief to a positive belief, and ultimately to a transparent belief. This means it no longer exists and is not even on your radar. It's gone!


Can it be this easy? If you believe it can be and are willing to give it a shot, then yes. And why should you believe it? How about because it matters to you. Can you believe in something simply for this reason and then prove that you really do believe in it, that you truly do have faith, by acting on it? This is where miracles and transformation occur.

Using Positive Affirmations


Using positive affirmations is a proven technique that works miracles in many lives. Ideally, you should look yourself in the eye as you make these positive affirmations. Don't be shy; go ahead and get started! Repeat the following statements to yourself every Monday morning to get your day and week off to a great start: I clearly understand that failure is an event, not a person; that yesterday really did end last night; and that success isn't final and failure isn't fatal because I only fail if I quit.
